![]() ![]() As I say I League you have the classic 1-1-1-2, whit the only variant to switch the ADC/support with mid or top. Is important to point out, there is not a obligatory jungle position, but #3 and #4 can jungle.Īnd for laning you have many options, and when I say many, I really mean so. #4 is support, but will need some farm to build one or 2 important items items.#3 the offlaner, kind of similar to top in League, but this is the hardest Dota 2 position to understand for League players.#2 mid, that may be a utility hero for teamfights, a high damage dealer (kind of the League ADC), or a mix of those.#1 is the carry (similar role to League ADC), but it is not necessarily a ranged squishy hero. You have 1 to 5 positions, and it just mean the farm priority each hero have. Ok, so the roles in Dota 2 are much more flexible complex (or lets say they are felixble, because in League they aren't), but at the same time pretty simple. Now let me explain really quick the Dota 2 meta, which is actually impossible, I've been watching Dota for more than 4 years and I can't explain the meta like I did with League, and you may think that this is stupid or bad, but in my opinion is awesome. That only changes a little bit when is a hero that can solo lane (mid or top) and has jungle potential. So we have a very strict meta, to the point that when Riot lunches a new champ they already give it a strict role. Yes you can have some changes with the ADC/support switching lanes with either the mid or top (but it got nerffed because Riot doesn't like flexibility), but it is kind of disadvantage because having the ADC/support combo bot gives more dragon control. Is not only the positions that are inflexible, also the lanes. And then you have the ADC and support, respectively a ranged champ who does lots of physical damage trough either auto attacks or some skills (basically an skill shot), and a utility champ (used to be the ward bitch before the big changes to items and warding) who just protects the ADC through almost the whole game and maybe is also initiator.A mid who can be assasin (not much lately) or mage.A jungler who either is utility, bruiser or tanky, maybe a mix of those 3.A top who generally is a bruiser or a tank.Lately I've been thinking a lot about League meta. I play League and also Dota 2 (have friends in both games), and I really like both games. ![]() I am only trying to explain my point of view, and comparing League with Dota 2 helps a lot here.
